This is the exact chronology of the anime to date, so if you decide to watch it in chronological order this is the order you should follow. The ONA series we left aside, because it does not fit with the facts of the main story, so you can watch it at any time without problems.
If you have doubts about watching the original first season or the Director’s Cut version, we recommend you see if you have the possibility of the director’s cut. In it you see more material, the animation is improved, and it is better developed and produced. Of course, the plots are completely the same, so if you see one you can stop seeing the other.

Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World o kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu – Season 1

The story begins with Subaru Natsuki in a store looking at comics and buying food. He is suddenly transported to another world and his adventures begin, where due to fate he meets a beautiful elf with silver hair, who tells him that her name is Satella. Subaru falls in love with her at first sight and helps her find a badge that was stolen from her.
But while trying to get that badge back, Subaru dies, but something makes him every time he dies he comes back to life at a point before he died. After several deaths, Subaru discovers that he has an ability that allows him to go back and fix things.
OVA movie
This film lasts 60 minutes and was released in Japanese theaters on October 6, 2018. It is the adaptation of the Mayonnaise chapter, and in it we can see Rem and Emilia somewhat harmed, among other things. It is located between episodes 11 and 12 of the first season.

Re:Zero – The Frozen Bond
OVA movie
This OVA is the adaptation of the chapter of the novel “Hyouketsu no Kizuna” that was with the first Blu-Ray of Re:Zero. This movie is a prequel to the first season of the anime and tells us how Emilia and Pack met.

Original series or Director’s Cut, which one to watch?
The original series has 25 episodes with an average duration of 25 minutes. In contrast, the Re:Zero Director’s Cut series consists of 13 episodes with an average duration of 60 minutes each. As we already told you, the plot of both is the same, except that there are some additional scenes and small specific changes by the director.
But it must be recognized that despite the fact that the story is the same, the Director’s Cut version is of higher quality both in animation and in production.
