It is a tradition in Andalusian families to wear a mantilla and comb on Holy Thursday of Holy Week. These accessories must be carefully stored and follow certain care to prevent them from deteriorating over time. Also, the time to put it on is a whole ritual. Putting on an Easter mantilla correctly is quite complicated, hence the importance of going to your trusted salon to show off the mantilla.
5 steps to place an Easter mantilla
1. Prepare the hair, better if it has not been recently washed. Gather it in a low coke bun and add the hairnet.
2. Place the comb by introducing the teeth into the head little by little. With combs, the teeth of the comb stay firmly attached to the hair, so the wearer will be comfortable; at the same time, it covers the entrance of the teeth of the comb, giving an impeccable finish to the hairstyle.
3. Once the comb is fixed, we begin to place the mantilla. For this, we use one that is rectangular in size. We square the mantilla and measure it symmetrically by folding it in half, placing the thin part in view. Take the crease, place it in the center of the head using the nose as a reference and create a natural curl.
4. Once it is verified that the symmetry is perfect, the blanket is carefully folded and the flanks are secured with invisible clips. It should not be too tight so that the head can move freely and comfortably. Next, bring the front part of the mantilla to the inside of the comb.
5. Secure the shoulders well looking for symmetry, with the idea that the mantilla does not move throughout the day. Finally, place the brooch as a final touch.
